Many of us struggle with the answer to this specific question. Well, the most painless answer is “Body image is how one perceives himself/herself – his/her mental image regarding physical and biological thoughts and feelings.”

Body image has a lot of effect on the personality of a person.

It can be either negative or positive or both. And it all starts with a mindset. If a person has a negative mindset, they tend to look down on themselves and typically ridicule themselves. They tend to suffer from low self-esteem and try to change their physical appearance in order to look attractive.

While a person with a positive mindset might have a quite literally contrary image of themselves.

A study from Brown University suggests that 74.4%  of women and 46% of men think about their weight.

One of the major factors contributing to the quality of mindset is social media. The content you watch will heavily affect your way of living. You will subconsciously start practicing the same practices that those influencers do. Negative body image will have herculean aftermath. The person will have an inflated risk of a noxious lifestyle and binge eating that will lead to the eating disorder. The biggest effect of this is on teenagers. It is proven that approximately 37% of teens struggle with their bodies and are insecure.

People who struggle with body image tend to brawl with outward validation and will spend excessive time thinking about people’s opinions, which leads to menial life quality.

It has been scientifically proven that people who have a propitious view towards life are happier and more appeased with life and tend to live longer.

This outlook on life is a burning problem among all sorts of people and is extremely unsettling. These outlooks on life need to stop.
