Those straight A’s? Check. That perfect summer body for the next beach season? Check. The quota for two international trips this year? Check. That dream college you wanted to get into? Check that too!

So, you must be happy, right?

[Indecipherable Murmuring]

You must feel at ease. You must feel content. You must feel accomplished. You must feel worthy of yourself.

Right?

Unfortunately, the answer stays stuck in my throat, a synonymous case with plenty of people out there -the youth being a huge chunk of them.

Why? Why is it that I feel something constantly nagging me, pulling me into its deep craters, while I struggle to get out? Do I know what that something is? Or am I scared of facing it, if I voice it aloud?

Remember, you are not alone in this. There are people around you, who’ve gone through this, going through this. They know what it feels like, and they’re there to help you get out of it. All you have to do is ask, and trust me, that never makes you inferior. Mental health isn’t something to be ignored, it is to be confronted, and tackled with extreme care and precision. If done otherwise- It may have a terrible impact on your behaviour and morals in the long run.

Face what you dread, and overcome it- that’s when you’ll be happy, accomplished, at ease, content, motivated, and worthy of yourself- That’s when you’ll truly be alive.

You don’t get to give up, on this beautiful experience called life, because of a minor roadblock. You need to keep going, keep striving, and keep running towards it- until you get there.

Because there is hope, even when your brain tells you there isn’t.
