DEFINITION:
As per WHO, ‘Mental health is defined as a state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope up with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community.’
MENTAL HEALTH IMPORTANCE:
Nowadays people are more focused on maintaining their physical fitness and physical health. People are not aware of their mental health. They are also not aware that lack of mental health not only affects them mentally but also physically. For example, a person who lacks mental health can often feel pain in their chest regions.
Mental health not only influences physical health, but it also influences the way how we react and respond or how we behave or how we think about others, etc.
The term mental health is also used to refer to a person who is free of mental diseases. It also refers to physiological, emotional, and social well-being.
WHY SHOULD MAN KEEP HIS MIND HEALTHY?
There are many living organisms present on earth other than humans. But a special ability that separates all humans from other living things is the ability to use their brain to think analyse and react. This special ability made humans evolve and control life and gain superiority over other animals.
Mental health is important as we should be able to think and analyse each and every situation before we act on them. To be broad minded mental healthiness is very important.
Also, a mentally fit person easily copes with any kind of physical training and gets self-involved in many good activities. Mental fitness will make a person enjoy his present life and helps him to overcome all the failures and depression he faces in his life.
FACTORS OF MENTAL ILLNESS:
There are many factors that cause a person’s mind to become unstable. Some of them are depression, aggression, negative thinking, frustration, fear, etc.
These factors make us impatient and take wrong decisions based on our emotions.
The factors mentioned above can be easily rectified as doctors have proven that mental illness is curable. It can be rectified by simple means of yoga asana or positive thinking.
Some factors such as child abuse, genetic factors, biochemical imbalances, social disadvantage, or poor physical health conditions can be rectified only by therapy by phsycologists.
LACK OF FOCUS:
There are many symptoms due to mental illness.
One of the main problems is a lack of focus. Lack of mental health results in lack of focus. It is a situation in which the person is not able to focus on their main goal and is easily distracted by small emotional distractions.
This lack of symptoms at severe scale results in situations like suicides.
CONCLUSION:
Finally I conclude by saying that for a person to be healthy not only physical health but also mental health is important. A balance of these both will lead you to a healthy life.
