Depression is a mood disorder that causes feelings of sadness. Depression is one of the most common disorders in the world. There are more than thousands of people who experience depression every day. It causes stress, extreme bouts of sadness, and low self-esteem. Depression is primarily seen in teenagers. Teenagers have the stigma of being judged by fellow peers, fitting into a particular community, or standing out to appear as a ‘cool person.’ All of these negatively affect the person. One of the most common ways teens feel singled out is by peer pressure. Some of our peers may intentionally or unintentionally force us to join in activities we may not like. Still, we enter the activities because we worry about the image created if we do not do the exercise. Due to this, we feel uncomfortable, and we are not our own person. Depression negatively affects our mental health. One of the best ways to not get depressed is to talk. Talking helps in expressing our feelings. Talking to people we trust or talking to a psychiatrist helps a lot; we may also get good advice on how to deal with our problems in daily life. Depression is a disorder that many people face, and the best way to help them is by understanding them and helping them come out of their shells. Depression also causes other mental disorders, such as bipolar personality disorder.
