The ‘new normal’ that this pandemic has brought has been stressful and has aggravated mental health issues for many. Talking to someone you trust can always be helpful but sometimes you might not feel up to it. The habit of journaling can also be a good outlet for your stress when you don’t feel up to sharing your anxieties with another person.

Journaling can help you ‘dump’ your stress in a safe space, giving a healthy outlet to your worries and anxieties. It also helps you improve your writing while being a great emotional outlet.

It can also be a medium for you to record creative ideas that you can always come back to and work on at a later time.

It can also be a record for your memories and feelings. You can always come back to your journal later and relive a particular moment of your life. It also helps in self-reflection as you come back to your entries later and reflect on the emotions you felt and how you have grown.

There are many benefits of journaling, and another one of them is that it strengthens your memory, allowing your brain to make stronger connections to past events.

In a stressful time as the one we are all currently living in, journaling can be a healthy coping mechanism.
