When it comes to nutrition, there are many myths regarding what to eat when and what not to. A lot of things in popular opinion may be considered bad for your body but in reality they may not be. Let’s look at this list of myths regarding nutrition and why they are nothing to worry about:

  • Avoid eggs because they increase cholesterol – Eggs provide a number of nutrients to the body, and they fulfil the body’s needed requirement of good cholesterol.
  • Vegetarians cannot build muscle – Vegetarians too can build muscle by getting their proteins from foods such as pulses, nuts etc.; and meat is not the only protein rich food that they necessarily have to consume.
  • Consuming milk and fish together is bad for you – It is believed that the milk and fish create some sort of poisonous reaction to the body when combined together, but this is not backed by science. In fact, some nutritionists might even suggest the two together in the same meal in diets.
  • Low fat or no fat diets are good for you – Your body needs a certain amount of fat for tissue repair and energy requirements and consumption of fats can’t completely be removed unless prescribed by a doctor for certain health reasons.
