Doing a project together will not only help your kids express themselves creatively but also help them understand the importance of collaboration and working together. As they create, talk to your kids about why art is important and how it can be used to express emotions, tell stories, and explore ideas. Ask questions about their artwork and encourage them to explain their creative process.

To start, gather some supplies. You will need- Cardboard, Paint, Paintbrushes, Stickers, Markers, Colored Pencils, Glue, and Scissors.

Once you have gathered all your supplies, it is time to start the art project!

  • Begin by cutting the cardboard into different shapes and sizes. Let your child’s imagination guide them as they make the shapes.
  • Next, let your child pick a few paint colors and brushes to start painting. Encourage them to mix colors to create new shades and add texture to their art using different brush strokes.
  • When the painting is done, let them add stickers, markers, and colored pencils to their artwork. They can use glue to attach the stickers and draw designs with markers and colored pencils.

Once their masterpiece is complete, it is time to display it! Hang it up in a prominent place for everyone to admire. This can help them understand the power of art and why it’s important to express ourselves through creative outlets.
